New Students - Documents Required for Registration Registration takes place on the first day of the program. In order to register you will fill in a registration form and provide the documents listed below for copying. Once these forms have been collected and processed (usually within a day or two) you will receive a temporary “Semester Ticket.” This ticket, when accompanied by a valid form of identification, will enable you to travel for free throughout the Berlin public transportation system. It will also enable you to receive reduced prices at the student cafeteria (also called the “Mensa.).You will receive the actual semester ticket a few weeks later in the mail.
