Master's Program - Description

Costs

There are no tuition fees for the master's program in molecular medicine. The Charité covers these costs. However, students must be prepared to cover the cost of their own living expenses, as well as a nominal student fee of about €250 per semester. This student fee includes a public transportation ticket which enables students to travel with public transportation for free, 24/7, throughout all the AB zones of Berlin.

If you are accepted to the program you can expect living expenses of at least 500 Euros per month. This would include housing, mandatory health insurance, utilities, and food. Of course many students spend more. It is typical for student to spend 600 Euros per month without living in luxury. However, it is very unusual to live in Berlin for less. Some students do manage, but it is very difficult.

At this time the Charité does not offer any scholarships to assist students in the master's program in molecular medicine. However, some of our current students have been successful in obtaining a scholarship for one semester from the Humboldt University with which the Charité is associated. Please click here for more information about this scholarship opportunity.

Many of our international students have also obtained financial assistance from the DAAD.
